Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" place. A lot of people who aren't aware of the name mistakenly believe that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is the West Island includes everything westward from Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently cited, however her short stay was not. Brugel was raised in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. She had a dream to dance however a rapid growth rate led to her growing beyond her dance partners. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. When I surpassed the size of my male companion, I stopped. Some former dancers switch into acting. In Brugel's case it was the nudge of an instructor in drama at high school that encouraged her to go in that direction. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to pursue a role for the school's annual production. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. The show was granted a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated from the program in 2000, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Over the last 20 years, her work has been seen on both the small and big screen. The most notable was her attention when she won her role as Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare instances in the initial season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the only Canadian member.
